We have developed two package tour itineraries aimed at naturalists who want to get the most of their time on tour, designed to showcase as many key species and environments as possible: Cape to Kalahari and East-coast to Kruger Tours. Although these tours are set on routes, guests looking for specific species will be accommodated and these species may become the focus for particular legs of the tour. Our aim is to help you find your target species or to see as many species as possible in the areas we visit. It all comes down to the pace and dedication of the group. We’re open to your ideas and want to work with you to achieve your photographic and sighting goals.

CAPE TO KALAHARI TOUR

The Cape is known to have the highest diversity of tortoise species in the world; a must for any serious reptile enthusiasts. We travel from the metropolitan city of Cape Town and head up the west coast looking for tortoises, chameleons and the charismatic Armadillo Lizards – some of the most trafficked reptiles in the country. We continue onwards into Namaqualand to find the world’s smallest tortoise and the world’s smallest Adder! Namaqualand is a treat to the senses with wide open desolate landscapes which are home to some of the country’s highest diversity of geckos and lizards. We finally make our way to Augrabies Falls; a must for die hard adventurers and of course reptile enthusiasts – think Cape Cobra, Coral Snakes, Horned Adders and of course the infamous Black Spitting Cobra.

EAST COAST TO KRUGER TOUR 

Explore KwaZulu Natal – one of the country’s richest provinces in terms of reptile and amphibian diversity with over 80 snake species! In the Durban area we spend time with some of the local snake rescuers, joining in on any real live unwanted reptile removals and relocations. We then head up into mega fauna territory through northern KZN and Kruger Park where you’re no longer just looking for Black Mambas and Monitor Lizards and chasing down Cobras but watching out for the notorious BIG 5: Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Leopard and Rhino. During this tour we go from the coast, through forest, grasslands and savannah to tropical herping all in one go. It’s a real treat to the senses and the range of species is immense. This is a very popular route that never fails to disappoint.

When it’s all about your goals and targets we can accommodate almost any tailor-made encounter you’re after. Whether you are wanting to see or get hands on with a wild Black Mamba, track down Africa’s rarest tortoise, world’s smallest adder or simply do a trip dedicated to a single genus we can make it happen. These are some of our favourite explorations  to do from meticulous trip planning to setting lazer focus on finding specific species. It takes us back to our roots and passion in conservation and fieldwork. 

When you’re passionate about tracking down an endemic chameleon from the Swartberg or perhaps seeing your dream Black Mamba and you don’t want anything or anyone else getting in your way, our private tours are a firm favourite. CAPE TOWN TOUR

The best of both, with having access to the metropolitan city, mountain ranges, nature reserves and wild areas, all within 10mins drive of the city. If you’re in town for business or a few days and want to get out into nature and tick off a few species, and want to meet the iconic Cape Dwarf Chameleon, Cape Rain Frog or Africa’s most endangered Tortoise on a half day or full day tour.

CHAMELEON MEGA ENCOUNTER TOUR

South Africa is home to 21 species of chameleons, most of which are found nowhere else on earth. We have extensive experience and skills in tracking down and locating all of the country’s known chameleon species – along with a handful of species still undescribed to science!
