EAST COAST TO KRUGER TOUR
Explore KwaZulu Natal – one of the country’s richest provinces in terms of reptile and amphibian diversity with over 80 snake species! In the Durban area we spend time with some of the local snake rescuers, joining in on any real live unwanted reptile removals and relocations. We then head up into mega fauna territory through northern KZN and Kruger Park where you’re no longer just looking for Black Mambas and Monitor Lizards and chasing down Cobras but watching out for the notorious BIG 5: Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Leopard and Rhino. During this tour we go from the coast, through forest, grasslands and savannah to tropical herping all in one go. It’s a real treat to the senses and the range of species is immense. This is a very popular route that never fails to disappoint.
Mozambique Spitting Cobra, Forest Cobra, Southern African Python, Black Mamba, Puff Adder, Berg Adder, Boomslang, Nile Crocodile, Green Snakes (Philothamnus), Tortoises (Leopard and Hinged Backs), Chameleons (Flapneck, Transvaal and Setaro’s Dwarf Chameleon), Monitor Lizards (Rock and Nile Monitors), Giant Plated Lizards and more!
